Job Overview:​

The Driver Manager will oversee and manage a fleet of company drivers or owner-operators, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transportation operations. This role serves as the primary link between drivers and management, maintaining high levels of compliance, productivity, and driver satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:​

• Supervise and manage daily operations of the driver team for timely and efficient service delivery.
• Develop and optimize driver schedules and routes to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Monitor driver attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies, road safety, and traffic regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle and driver audits to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance.
• Coordinate training programs for drivers on defensive driving, customer service, and company standards.
• Manage incident reporting, accidents, and disciplinary issues within the driver team.
• Maintain accurate records of driver logs, fuel usage, and mileage reports.
• Ensure effective communication between management and drivers to resolve operational issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Operations and HR departments on driver recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisals.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian transport and logistics regulations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager or Directors.

Qualifications & Experience:​

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in fleet/driver supervision or transport management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian traffic laws, logistics, and fleet management best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and solve operational problems effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with fleet management software is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license (Class E or higher preferred).
