Position Summary:
Our client, a prestigious hotel in Arusha, is seeking a skilled Chef De Partie (Hot Kitchen) to join their culinary team. In this role, you will prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure smooth kitchen operations that delight guests.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare all food according to established culinary standards.
- Ensure timely production of meals in adequate quantities for all hotel outlets and events.
- Maintain stock levels and manage kitchen inventory efficiently.
- Present daily menus to kitchen staff and coordinate preparation accordingly.
- Oversee and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring all team members are aware of their responsibilities.
- Train new staff on skills and standards required for their roles.
- Delegate duties to kitchen staff according to menu requirements.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure quality, hygiene, and timely service.
- Provide staff feedback for development and resolve any staffing issues promptly.
- Minimise food wastage through proper preparation methods and storage practices.
- Oversee ordering, storage, and security of all kitchen and beverage stocks.
- Support hotel functions and events, ensuring food is prepared and served to standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Studies.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a chef, including 2–3 years in a head chef or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Professional, punctual, organised, and trustworthy.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and motivate staff.
