Role Overview​

The Systems Administrator Officer II is responsible for managing and implementing TIB’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring the effective operation of the bank’s network, data centers, servers, storage, and backup systems. The role includes providing solutions, advising on ICT security, and planning network and infrastructure projects in coordination with the IT team.

Key Responsibilities​

• Manage and maintain servers, including Active Directory (AD), email, printers, and associated operating systems/software for both on-site and off-site data centers.
• Maintain an inventory of equipment, parts, and documentation for configurations, standards, and vendor activities.
• Perform systems administration tasks such as backups, restoration, and ensuring backup media availability.
• Secure network infrastructure to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Administer servers, client computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, mobile devices, software deployment, security updates, and patches.
• Ensure all ICT implementations comply with TIB policies and requirements.
• Prepare and maintain documentation of network layouts and cabling.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Educational Qualifications​

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge​

• Proven experience in ICT infrastructure architecture and operations in medium to large financial institutions.
• Expertise with Windows Server 2019+, Active Directory (AD) configuration and management, server replication, and domain/subdomain setup.
• Strong networking knowledge including routers, switches, and firewall configuration.
• Skilled in server and storage administration and network security practices.
• Ability to organize, document, and communicate complex technical information effectively.
• Capacity to multitask and respond to emergency situations efficiently.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant ICT certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Swahili.
